- To show how religous groups lost faith due to the belief of witches.
- No because she loses herself to the devil but initially at the beggining, yes. After Faith loses her ribbon Brown loses his faith.
- I think that the pink ribbons signify innocence and purity.
- I think that the story is a dream because while he is in the field witnessing the meeting, the story suddenly moves to the morning the next day and no one is say is mentioning anything about a meeting and the ministers are going up their buisness giving sermons.
- I think that the old man adumbrated what Brown was going to be like after the night was over. Hints of this is how he was similar to Brown except his facial expressions.
- The staff represents temptation? I think the staff leads onwards because because Brown didn't want to continue but the old man insisted and handed him the staff to help him move faster.
- He probably would've went on living his normal life and still had his faith and had no problem with any other people because there'd be nothing to question them on.
